If you want to free the inactive memory simply select free memory.

If you click it and go to usage you should see exactly how much memory your mac is using. You should see the memory usage in the top right toolbar. Once it’s finished your mac should run a lot smoother. This should take a few mins, there maybe a slowdown until it’s finished. Warning – Please purge use with caution as it’s not 100% safe to use.
